There are several ways to start up a video call on Microsoft Teams.
- One way is through your calendar. This allows you to create schedule video calls through Teams that are tied to an event. This allows you to invite people to the meeting and also share out the video chat link in the same event.
- You can create spontaneous Teams video calls through your calendar also.
- Finally you can "dial" up any Hockaday staff or faculty to prompt them to join a video call at that instant
Scheduling a Video Call through Teams
When you create an event on your calendar, you can embed a Teams meeting link into that event by simply toggling the option on, as shown below.
Start a Teams meeting room instantly
In your calendar, you can find the following button at the top right. Clicking this will launch the Teams app and start an empty room in which you can invite others to join. Note, this is not a scheduled event and only creates an empty room. You will still have to invite members to join.
"Dial" up a Teams call
In the teams app itself, you can find a member and click the video camera icon and it will immediately dial them for a video call in teams.
